Susan and Bob Lucas have had Airedales since 1980. Their first Airedale, Pandora, was shown in obedience and obtained her Companion Dog Certificate (CD) and Companion Dog Excellent Certificate (CDX). While attending obedience trials Susan and Bob would watch the conformation classes, especially the Airedale Terriers. They were soon hooked on the breed.

In 1984 they bought their first "show dog" Monty. Sue and Monty became best buddies. Sue trained and conditioned Monty to be shown in both obedience and conformation. Monty earned a Companion Dog Certificate (CD). At the age of 3 he finished his championship. Along the way he won Winners Dog at the prestigious Great Western Dog Show.

In 1987, they purchased a puppy bitch to show. Her name was Casey. She finished her championship and was bred. They kept 3 puppies from that litter. A son of one of those puppies, Freddie, went on to win Winners Dog at the Airedale Terrier Club of America National Specialty held each fall at Montgomery County.

Bob is one of the founders of the Sun Country Terrier Club and Sue is a charter member. Both have served on the Board of Directors of that club and Sue is currently the President. In the past, both Sue and Bob have been members of the Phoenix Field and Obedience Club and have taught obedience classes for that club.

Sue and Bob have also shown and bred Smooth Fox, Welsh and Lakeland terriers.
